Scenic "Locals" Stroll
Instead of one or more of the spots in green, you may opt for a "locals" walk on flat terrain. Tell Allan in person, at the start, if you want this option. He'll decide if this walk is possible due to weather. Wear comfortable shoes that can handle a little dirt or mud. Keep in mind that all tours are the same length — this walk would likely mean skipping one or more other spots.

-
Restroom stops
-
Complimentary waters and snacks, and the use of binoculars

How it Works
Simple, Easy, and Stress-Free Juneau Tours
Juneau experiences around 230 days of rain each year
Did you know?
Precipitation levels in Juneau range from 55 inches at the airport to more than 90 inches downtown.
As part of the Tongass National Forest, the largest in the U.S., our lush landscapes thrive because of it.
Bring a raincoat and dress in layers so you can enjoy your adventure no matter the weather. We’re a rain or shine kind of town!

While I don't drive directly to the Mendenhall Glacier or the Visitors' Center, I offer a unique alternative. I take guests to a beautiful, less-crowded photo spot just 5 miles away at the Brotherhood Bridge Lookout. It provides a stunning view of the glacier and is perfect for those seeking to get away from the crowds.
